English literacy levels are quite low here compared to the rest of Australia, therefore we ask you please speak clearly. For some Yungngora people, English is their second or third language.

Yungngora (Noonkanbah) Community laws and rules on our Country

  • No ‘grog’ (alcohol) – dry community – please refer to Liquor Control (Noonkanbah Restricted Area) Regulations 2009.
  • No drugs.
  • Drive slow.
  • It is hard living for many of the Yungngora community with over 80% on welfare, therefore please be mindful of our living conditions and do not judge.
