Yungngora Community to Benefit from New Housing Investment

The Department of Communities is making significant strides in improving living conditions for remote and town-based Aboriginal communities across Western Australia. Supported by the WA Government’s $350 million Remote Communities Fund, this initiative aims to deliver new and refurbished housing to enhance the quality of life for residents. 

One of the key beneficiaries of this funding will be the Yungngora community, where construction of new housing is scheduled to commence mid 2026. This development will provide much-needed accommodation, helping to address housing shortages and improve living standards for community members. Beyond the physical infrastructure, this project represents a broader commitment to empowering remote Indigenous communities. By investing in sustainable, quality housing, the initiative supports the principles of self-determination and community resilience.
