Yungngora Community to benefit from new Football Oval

As the wet season in the Kimberley comes to a close, work is now underway on the Football Oval in Yungngora. This exciting development marks a significant step forward for the community. 

Funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the West Australian Football League, and Marra Worra Worra Aboriginal Corporation will be used to comprehensively upgrade the Yungngora Community Football Oval. These enhancements will facilitate the hosting of more Central Kimberley Football League (CKFL) games in Yungngora, enriching the local sporting scene and providing greater opportunities for community involvement. 

Noonkanbah Aboriginal Corporation CEO Steve Horton expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “In the Kimberley, being outdoors and participating in sports is a way of life. I’m thrilled that our community members will benefit from this important upgrade.” This initiative not only fosters a sense of pride and connection among residents but also encourages active participation in sports, promoting health and well-being throughout the community.
